Nwabueze’s transformative style involving the recycling and upscaling of scraps African textiles from the rag trade (originally sourced from his mother’s tailoring workshop) into valuable and highly collectable works of art epitomizes the true spirit of human ingenuity. This powerful metaphor for wealth creation can be equally applicable in converting trash talk about black jobs into endearing symbols used to engineer social change.
